I am Silke Daneels, artist and world traveler from Belgium. When I walk - in nature, in my garden, in an unknown city - my gaze is always sharp. Details do not escape me. A texture on an old wall. The way the light falls through the leaves. An unexpected color combination. I always have my camera with me - there is always something beautiful to discover.

That looking makes me happy. I want to pass that happiness on to you.

Flowers and nature are a common thread in my life and in my work. Sometimes I paint a play of colors that intrigues me. Other times, the image arises from an experiment with the gelli plate, where shapes and colors unexpectedly meet, and the prints look sharper, almost graphic. My retro ANNY camera travels with me - a camera that doesn't care about my intentions. The results are unpredictable. Sometimes they fail completely. Imperfection, with pure magic.

That unexpected - that is exactly where beauty resides.
